genetic fibromyalgia
I’m adopted so I don’t know lol ... sorry 😐
You need to 'lock' your post to get more replies. I have fibro and I'm convinced my mother had it, though she was never diagnosed, she was always failed by the doctors. I also suspect her mother may have had it - family members talk about 'her funny do s' that she had.
i and both my sisters have it also my 1st cousins have it 3 sisters
I believe my mother has it, my daughter is now showing all the signs, and several of my cousins also have it. It's so common though, that it's impossible to tell if there's a genetic connection.
Maternal grandmother, maternal uncle, paternal aunt, daughter showing signs 🙁
Hi Hidden
The current research seems to suggest that they may be a genetic predisposition to Fibro, however this being said you could have two sisters and both experience the same virus/traumatic experience and only one may go on to get Fibromyalgia. So, it seems the way the trigger affects people with family genes as to whether it develops or not.
We have done a poll previously to find out who has family members with Fibro, here's the link;

I am the only one in my family that I know of !
Hope this is of interest to you

Both my son and daughter are showing signe of Fibro, I have it, and I'm pretty sure their paternal grandfather did too, although it was undiagnosed in him, although the history and symptoms strongly suggest it.
I'm pretty sure my sister had it, or Lupus. She had a lot of pain. Drs. didn't know why. Died in '87 of only heart attack at almost 54. She smoked, and drank vodka a lot but I never saw her drunk.
My mom may have had it. When all of my siblings and I were under 4yrs of age my mom asked the doctor to put her on a low dose of synthroid. She wasn’t hypothyroid but she felt like she should have had more energy. I’m not sure as to why or any details but if I remember right she and I know my middle brother, sister and I spent a month with my maternal grandmother. I didn’t remember if my oldest brother was there. This could have been of one or two reason. 1 low energy and my mom needed help or 2 my dad was in one of his bad moods and she didn’t want us to be around it. Back then he would put his fist through the kitchen wall or break things in his uncontrollable rage of anger. Other than that she had migraines but no fibro stuff like fog or pain. I was the first one to be hit with fibromyalgia and CFS. Where working home health 2hrs a day and most of that was sitting doing paperwork would take everything out of me. I was diagnosed in 94. Now my identical twin sister didn’t have any children because that was what brought it on. Now she is heading down the same road as I did in 93-4 with the heart, lungs, stomach (she sees the surgeon this week about her gall stones) and pain will “chime in” as she calls it. So don’t know yet what is all going on but she has had numerous tests with no real definitive answers. No one else has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and CFS/ME.
