My name is Carol I'm new to this site l have been very tired exhausted for about 4 years. My doctors do blood tests but they always come back negative. Witch is very good. Iv been to a sleep specialist twice I found them good, I sleep very well but most morning get up still tired wanting more sleep. New doctor joined practice I told her how l felt I I said it's not just me that's tired my whole body is tired at times lm exhausted just making my bed. She said it sounds like fibromyalgia she gave me this site to learn more about it. I do have a lot of symptoms but not pain all over my body however I do have arthritis but to me that's a different thing so confused about do l have this awful condition or not. Help

Lots of people seem to be diagnosed with fibro when tests come back as normal. Do you have unexplained pain and other weird sensations moving around your body as well as fatigue? Some people find they are iron deficient even though blood tests are in the normal range so might be worth trying that. Fibro has lots of different triggers and when added together they cause an intensity of disfunction.

Hello there Carol, Welcome to the forum, I would ask your doctor is they cannot make a different diagnosis to refer you to a rheumatologist that’s normally the next step when blood tests etc have been ruled out and come back clear. Next to see you posting a picture with a smile on your face . If you do get diagnosed the forum is a good place to have a read and a chat with members, in the meantime take care xx

Sorry to jump on someone’s post but My doctor won’t refer me to a rheumatologist he says now it’s not the next step it is now drs that diagnose fibro not the rheumatologist anymore I have osteoarthritis and all fibro symptoms all bloods came back clear and waiting to see pain clinic he told me it’s only people with rheumatoid arthritis that see a rheumatologist is this true or is he chatting nonsense?

Hello there, my doctor did actually diagnosis me after blood tests were negative etc, but I still do read here that rheumatologist still can be the next step to getting a diagnosis, I hope Carol gets some answers eventually. So has your doc diagnosed you with fibro ? Hope the pain clinic is helpful for you, not something I’ve been too, take care .

Ah right yes so do I that’s why I mentioned it to my doctor he is hesitant to fully diagnose me yet he was the first one to bring it up and on my sick notes he puts chronic joint pain poss fibro but he says I don’t want to put a label on you yet and basically insinuated in my head I will feel worse 😩 as if honestly shocked when he said that

I actually felt better when he diagnosed me , also close friends and family seem to accept it better too , was diagnosed with sleep apnea 9 years ago whilst looking for answers then after fibro he finally diagnosed me with CFs. I have read that some of these conditions go hand in hand together. Thankfully happened later on in life so when I hit my fifties I had to try and accept the changes. Xx

On top of Arthritus i really hope it is not Fibro. Could be ME ? nhs.uk/conditions/chronic-f... which def has over lapping symptoms with fibro. GL

Thank you all so much for your feed back. I have had RLS for 44 years as you get older it gets worse. That alone is a debilitating decease I am on medication for it but still get fare ups any time of the day or night. I have had a look at the me site but the symptoms I'm experiencing match fibromyalgia rather than me. My doctor was going to refer me but then don't do anything. I think the reason she won't refer me is because of the covid.

yea I was diagnoised with fibro when all tests came back, not sure what meds doc put ya on but alot of them can drain ya body from vitamins, so daily vitamins, vitamin b12 vitamin d iron magnism ect, take daily vitamins, and ask if you had tests to see if you were low on vitamins, is your doctor a remotoligist,, I am really bad at spelling due to this

Hi,

Please look up ME/CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I have been told I have this along with Fibromyalgia. I recognise what you describe feeling tired making the bed or just having a shower, doing a few dishes etc

With CFS your exhausted even if you sleep and sleep as you don’t ever feel well rested.

Hope you get answers x
