Hello I've had Fibro for about two years injury to lower back at work twice has taken its toll.

Medically retired from work Dec 2016 no role left for me to do so placed on the scrap heap. Upside is I get my work pension six years early but would rather be working and feeling well.

Regards.

Hi Hun, I’ve had fibro for a similar length of time but diagnosed just over a year ago. I’ve got a benign spinal cystic tumour and had several surgeries on it. I had my contract terminated from work towards the end of last year on the grounds of ill health. I’m currently waiting to find out if I can medically retire on a lower tier of my pension. I’d much rather feel well and be working, however, we have to deal with what life throws at us don’t we lol. I’m thankful in a way as at least I’ve been given the opportunity to concentrate on me and my illnesses.

I appreciate it’s easier said than done, however, please don’t think that you’ve been placed on the scrap heap. Try and look after yourself for a change. Your health comes first and you’re definitely worth taking care of.

Love and hugs to you xx

Hello there Diggerboy it's nice to meet you and welcome you to our lovely supportive forum :) Sorry you have fibro and had to retire early. But don't see it as a scrap heap see it more as a challenge with time to do more of the things you never had time to do. I know on our bad days this is a challenge in it's self that's for sure. But there is a life out there maybe not the one we are used to or the one we would have chosen but there is new things we can do and enjoy we just have to look for them :)
