Hi mart1972

Used to take Duloxetine and it helped but stopped taking it whilst pregnant then tried it again but severe nausea! Strange as I am usually one that is not sensitive to medications which is unusual as most people with Fibro are extremely sensitive, perhaps my sensitivity is changing after having Fibro over 10yrs.

Hope you are finding benefit with no side effects

Emma :)

My GP put me on to 20mg duloxetine on top of Venlafaxine MR 150mg which I had been on for 19 years for severe chronic depression, dose as high as 225mg for a long time. 3 yrs ago, I managed to reduce it myself gradually to 150mg & have been managing quite well. When I was diagnosed with Fibro, the Rheumatologist suggested that Duloxetine was very good as a painkiller for it, so I told my GP as only painkiller I was on was Paracetamol. I'd neen on max dose of Tramadol for years, no longer worked. Tried Gabapentin, then Pregabelin ... side effects dreadful. 20 mg Duloxetine helped a bit, side effects settled quickly. Dose increased to 30mg once daily ... better again. Now taking 30mg twice daily& still taking Venlafaxine on GP's insistence. Has helped pain levels a lot, & minimal side effects ... a twitchy right hand from time, but not often. Hope this helps you.

Duloxetine suits me great. No side effects, mega good effects. Try it long enough to let it settle before deciding. X

Had to stop taking this. The side effects were horrendous. Terrible shaking hands it got to a point where I couldn’t pick up a drink without spilling it or dropping it. Now on Zapain, gabapentin, amytriptaline plus other meds for high blood pressure and reflux. No way would I take Duloxetine again. I suppose it may react differently for others. x
