Fibromyalgia - what is making it worse for me?

Hi there. Just wondered if anyone elses Fibromyalgia is really bad at the moment? Im having to increase my painkillers as am struggling with everyday life. M not sure if it is the antidepressants (mirtazipane) I'm on making it worse. The antidepressants should kick in this week and the doctors assures me that I should begin to feel better. I need all my medication to help my Fibro and my depression( caused by a detached retina, 4 operations, a failed phased return back to work) and Fibro making everything worse, as im sure my fellow Fibro sufferers understand how miserable it can make you. Doctors don't understand, they think they can give you medication as a quick fix. I've been made to suffer more over the last four weeks because the mirtazipane takes 4 weeks to kick in. What alternatives are there with medication, herbal remedies or anything else you guys can recommend to me to speak to my doctor about? Thanking you in advance

Have you tried magnesium spray? I also use a TENs machine which helps quite a lot and Epsom salts xxx

Thanks for the advice. Ill have to give the spray a try. Can i get it from my dr or buy it at a chemist. Ive used voltarol cream but found that didnt help me.

Yes, you can get a TENS from a chemist. I bought a small one from Amazon where the pads clip on to the machine, like butterfly wings. It makes it easier to wear out or walk around in. I have one where the pads are on wires (which we’ve have for at least 20 years). You can cover more muscle area, such as your back, but I’d rather use the little all in one machine.. x
