Well done you, so nice to know there are still caring people out there. A friend of mine saw a lady struggling to buy dog food. She asked the shop assistant if the lady came in often and she confirmed she came daily to buy a tin of dog food. My friend waited for the lady to leave and then bought 12 tins of dog food and said to the shop assistant to keep them for her next visit and just give any excuse to make her take them as the shop assistant said she was proud and wouldn't take charity. Makes the heart sing to hear of folk still with a kindly deed or word for those less fortunate.
Absolutely, we all never know what could happen and we all go through rough patches. Sometimes a small gesture can go a long way. Last Christmas me and our family went around the city centre in Leicester giving blankets, toiletries, food pack ups, little present, drink and a few pictures the kids drawn from the family. It was beautiful to be a part of it. Amazing gesture to thank you
so true - a case of, as Granny always said "there but for the grace of God"
I had a colleague going through a rough patch and the NHS couldn't offer anything for almost a year so I paid for some therapy for him. Couldn't manage to fund it for long but it gave him a lifeline until the NHS could step in and provide the much needed support. We certainly never know what is round the corner for any of us.
That's really thoughtful of you and would be greatly appreciated. Therefore but for the grace of good fortune to many of us the most surprising of people have ended upmin the streets. I try to persuade them to go to one of the hostels or charities where they can have a shower, clean clothes and a good meal.x
You are a star. Its shameful in 2017 in one of the richest countries in the world we still have homelessness. Luckily this world still has people like you with big hearts and kind natures. Bless you and big hugs. Joolz.x
What a lovely thing to do, it not only makes them feel better but also makes you yourself feel good and when they appreciate it like that you then know they are really in need not like some others.
Made me cry. It's so heartbreaking what some people go through and how much a small gesture can mean to them. Wish there would be more people realizing that and willing to help. You made me bit happy though that you exist!
