Since I was little I've always heard a soft whooshing sound in my right ear. It's always been there but only when there was complete silence. I grew up thinking it was normal, now at the age og 63 it's suddenly very loud and intrusive, the noise is constantly there, I've tried listening to music with earphones in, makes no difference.
I have diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, don't need this tinnitus to boot

Hi VonnyM I am sorry to hear this can I join BlueMermaid3 in recommending a visit to the GP.
I would be inclined to get that root if it has been going on for a while as it needs checking into. I personally believe if things have been happening for bit and get worse it is time to get advice.
I am so sorry to hear this my friend I hope it eases It sounds like you are really feeling this and it is starting to affect you more.
Hi I have Tinnittus quite bad and I too had a hearing test and now wear hearing aids in both ears to balance the sound! I just wish the nhs offered the small ones that go in the ear rather than the huge ones. Good luck
Both my ears are enjoying a marvelous orchestra of swishing sounds I have had tinnitus since having fibro. If I am tired or really under the weather it seems to get more pronounced, you have my sympathy.x
I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend and I truly hope that you can find some resolution to this issue. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
Hey! My initial thought is to have arteries looked at. Only cus of the link FM with giant cell arteritis affects the large arteries, and whooshing noise could be increased pressure.
I feel I have pressure in the right side of my head so much so it's making my ear ache. I'm going to have to wait for my appointment with ENT. Though I suspect all I'll get is a hearing test
