Hi my name is Carol and I've had fibro for a couple of years now. My condition has deteriated a lot. Yesterday I used a mobility shopping trolly for the first time. I felt embarrased. I use a crutch now toget around as my legs and feet hurt so much.Ive stumbbled on your group in the hope of finding support and a exchange of encouragement. I'm 57 yrs old and have 3 grown girls and 3 grandchildren and 4 spaniels which have given me great comfort and help me to keep going. My boyfriend is more and more my career more than anything else now.and looking for advice on how to get help that I might be entitled to. I get ESA and PIP but not mobility and feel now that the later be a component. I rang DWP to let them know and ask for the dreaded forms but have heard nothing. Advice and help would be most welcome .

Hi Carryt Welcome to our wonderful forum, I'm sure you will love it and find it invaluable chatting to others who are going through the same as you, at different stages of their lives with fibromyalgia.

The site is lucky enough to have our own benefits adviser, who could help you with your question, her name is Janet & her contact details are under "Pinned Posts" if you look to right of screen you will see or if your on phone or tablet, rotate it to panoramic view.

Citizens advice bureau are also very good & Will help in any way they can. I hope this helps.

You really have come to the right place my friend and I look forward to chatting with you on the forum.

Please do go check out the mother site fmauk.org where you will find lots of useful information and links on fibro.

It's a good idea to lock your posts to the community so they are not accessible from the internet. If you look to right of screen you will see under "Pinned Posts" a number of blue links & instructions on how to lock it.

Peace, luv n light

Jan xx

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, understanding and friendship, along with a chuckle or two to lighten the day.

Please try not to feel embarrassed about using an aid to help you get around. The fact that you are still able to do some shopping and get out a bit is the most important thing.

If you have not heard from the DWP in a few days, I would give them another ring. Then I would make an appointment with Citizens Advice and collect all your medical evidence.

I wish you luck and look forward to seeing you around the forum.
