STINGING GUMS UPDATE

I went to see my GP this morning I told him about the problem I'm having with my mouth.

He told me that I might be lacking in iron and that may be causing the problem so I have to go for a blood test to find out.

I will of course let you all know how I get on and I would like to say a BIG thank you for all of your replys.

As I said to you yesterday my dentist was adamant that my Burning Mouth Syndrome was a lack of Vitamin B12.

After I had some blood tests, my results showed that I was low in Vitamin B12 and was anaemic as well.

It does seem to take a long time to get these deficiencies back to anywhere near normal.

Hi BOB, I hope you are being tested for other things, not just iron.

As BlueMermaid3 has said, it could be Vitamin B12 too.

Hope you are able to get the results and supplements quickly and feel better soon.

Hi I have similar problems and after blood test was found to need folic acid. Hope you can get some answers. x

Hi Bob,glad to read your post! I have very dry mouth and a burning sensation on my tongue. I am low on iron and b12 need tablet and inj myself weekly with B12. Been to dentist but forgot to mention it couldn't think properly after he said I need a root canal😲 take care. Chris

Hi Chris, thanks for your reply went to see my GP he as sent me for a blood test as he thinks I may low in iron so I will have to wait until the test comes back I will of course let you know how I get on
