Hi and welcome. I was diagnosed yesterday.

Getting a diagnosis is half the battle isn't it? Being listened to and understood is a big part of it all too and that's where this forum really helps :)

Thank you so much

Hi

Sorry to hear that you are a fellow sufferer.

I think you'll be very pleased that you've joined this sight as everyone is very helpful and kind. You can learn a lot, have a moan and get support, people post funny and cute things. I have been on it for about a month and was very low when I joined and felt so alone, I have had great support and it's given my spirits such a lift. I am really happy that I've joined 👍🤗

Keep reading up on fibro and keep going to Drs for help if you feel you need it. Most of all pace yourself and only do what you feel you can do. It's important to learn to relax.

Take care of yourself and I hope you feel a bit better soon.

Best wishes.

Hi I don't think it was a shock as I have had symptoms for so long. In a funny way I felt relieved to get the diagnosis, to tell me that it was a real condition, if that makes sense.

Hi there

Welcome to our wonderful forum 😊  You have found yourself a bunch of caring, kind, compassionate people who all know how you feel.

As you are newly diagnosed it would be a great help for you to have a look at our mother site for loads of information fmauk.org

I personally have had Fibromyalgia for over 34 years and have been a member of the forum of four years.

My advice to you would be to take some time to get used to your diagnosis. Try to let the whole thing sink in before you do too much.

Some of the things your GP can refer you for, depending upon the severity of your symptoms are physio, Pain Clinic, Pain Management Clinic, and others dependant upon where you live.

If you take a look at the right side of your screed under Pinned Posts in blue there are simple steps to learn how to lock your post.

If you should need some help, please let me know and I will be happy to lock it for you.

I have made some truly wonderful life long friendships here. I sincerely hope that you will too.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Lu x

Welcome to the madhouse! Seriously though, we all have Fibro and most have other medical problems on top. We have to keep smiling or we'd go nuts!

I know what you mean about eventually getting a diagnosis. It's a double edged sword. Not the best thing to be told, but now you know what is wrong you can get on with dealing with it.

Feel free to ask questions, have a moan or tell a joke. It's a good family to be a part of 🐸

Hello and welcome, Sandyjr. Just want to echo what everyone else has said. It's a complex illness and it's so good to have somewhere where people understand that and support each other, Hilary
