I have a good husband who does the heavy work so I am lucky. Before he finished work I just used to clean the toilet, the washbasin, kitchen sinks and worktops. Just the stuff to keep any germs at bay.
If you can afford it get a window cleaner or ask a family member or friend to help you.
Cleaning Windows is one of the last things on my list to do if I ever have the energy. Sorting out paperwork, tidying up and finding things I have mislaid are my top priority . My home help does the ironing , changing sheets etc and basic cleaning where necessary . My home is I hope welcoming but in no way a show home. Life's too short.
I was trying out my karcher window cleaner that I bought because it was lightweight ( excellent btw) but hadn't counted on how messy they were because of the dogs, therefore needed a lot of wiping beforehand. I just get so frustrated watching everyone tidy around the house, I feel I need to help with something to lessen my husbands workload.
The short answer is...we don't keep our houses clean! I try to do a few jobs, like Kay said, wiping the work tops, cleaning the basin, bit of ironing on a good day. If I wash the dishes now....no dishwasher, old-style in the sink....it takes hours! I have to wash a few, rest, wash a few, rest....change the water cuz it went cold, wash a few...and rest! It drives me mad that now it takes me all day to do the things that used to take half an hour. Back in the day my husband used to watch me do the housework and say I was like a 'wasp in a bottle'....now I more resemble a snail. My husband works so can't do all the housework and I have 2 teenage lads who help only when they're asked...and I don't blame them, they have young lives to lead. I have learned to accept a dusty shelf among other things.
I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and I sincerely hope that your pain eases soon for you. I am in quite a fortunate position really as I have a cleaner twice a week. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
Hi Eme65 I truly know how you feel when I was it a lot of pain I use to think how can I get this and that done. Before I was ill i used to clean every day for hours at a time as I love my home to be very clean. When I was at my worst I could not even think about my housework but as I started to get a bit better I would try and clean one thing per day and that was definitely enough. I am very lucky that my partner would do everything for me but it still needed A woman's touch. Just try and clean One small thing at a time and only do it when you are feeling a bit stronger. Please do not overdo it as it will be to your cost. Please take good care of yourself. Jan101 🤗🤗🤗🌹xxx
