Well I'm up wandering since 3:30. And I decided to cook. So lovely pot of Irish stew on the hob and bread in oven (made from porridge oats and is really nice) the smell in the house is lovey and at least dinner is made for later when I will want to drop. Isn't it blooming crazy what we do and to make matters worse I have hospital appt at 9am...when I will desperately need sleep. I'm sure it not good having to drive for an hr to get to hospital when up most of the night. π I might as well be back working nights in my nursing role. Ah well, could be worse I suppose xx

Hi Olivia, I feel your frustration my friend.... so tell me about your Irish Stew.... sounds delicious! And what is your hospital appointment for today? Just for point of reference, its 7.21pm Monday 13th in NZ....
I have brittle asthma just for a little more complicated life π and I have to attend respiratory rehabilitation for ten wks. Assessment of my ability before asthma attack kicks in. Exercise for an hr! π
My stew, well what can I say. Mince balls, onions, carrots, parsnips and spuds. Salt, pepper and thyme. I also threw in garlic and sweet potatoes but they are not usual Irish stew ingredients. It'll be nice around 5pm. Usually better after it's 'rested' for a wee while.
Awe NZ...how lovely. My son spent six months there a few years back. Working on farms. He loved it and said it was like Ireland but better! Must be lovely. What part are you in? If not to rude to ask. X
Of course you can ask! I'm in Otorohanga which is in the King Country - the big mountains (Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngaruahoe) are just over an hour 1/2 drive from me. It is a beautiful country and im in s small rural town - population of our entire county is around 5,000? And thats a pretty big district. Mainly farming area π I always thought irish stew had beef steak in it?! Sounds delicious though! Asthma is not pleasant - runs riot in our family as well - along with other autoimmune issues. You still wide awake?! π
I am still awake. Won't lie down now as I might miss hospital appointment. Yeah beef is usually used. But I prefer steak minced and make into balls.
Sound a beautiful place. I live in farming community too. I'm in the sticks in Donegal x
Well i had to google that π It looks beautiful from the images that came up - so old and almost eerie - but in a nice way if you know what i mean? NZ is such a young country by comparison. Well ive had all my meds now so time to hit the hay - all the best with staying awake and getting to your appointment safely tomorrow Olivia. Maybe give us an update on whether you survive the hour if testing ππ. Gentle hugs from downunder x
What times dinner Olivia only I don't want to be late!!!!! xx
Please come you are all welcome to my wee shack and have the bread and stew. π I haven't even looked at it yet! Xx
Hi Olivia, I was just wondering the other night what strange things others get up to in middle of night. It was 2 am and I was cleaning and ironing and wide awake ! Between the fibro and the migraines I find I just do things when I have a burst of energy (always out of sync with rest of world). Beats lying there worrying about it when exhausted, I know it will happen at some point. I also knit , sew or quilt and watch box series, latest was House MD, any point during a 24 hour period. Stew sounds fab.
Oh hello Shazzy , that's lovely and nice to see I'm not the only one. I quilt aswell. Isn't it lovely thing to do. I made my 6 grand children all a quilt so then can hand it down to their own family. (Or throw it in bin when I'm gone more like π) I do a bit of crochet too. Like to scribble on occasions. But I havent done very much in last 7mths tho with my asthma. I'd be lost with out Netflix in middle of the night! Person of interest, spooks at moment. Och the stew is just an everyday pot full of stuff but nice flavour. Keep well xx
Hi Olivia1 , Sounds like your ahead of things today...good job!! I hope your appt goes well. Peck.π€
