Some days I'm in a lot of pain and others I can deal with it by taking my medication and massaging and a lot of heat or just resting. Anything you guys do that helps your symptoms please tell me

Hello Pain66 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where we share experiences, get support, advice and help, with a lighthearted moment or two.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information including links and guides.

The longer I am with this forum the more I learn about fibro and the biggest thing is that pain can be very different for different people. We all seem to have medications suited to us which may not be suitable for another sufferer, even though we share the same condition.

Taking an Epsom Salts bath brings relief to a lot of people,( unfortunately not me as I only have a shower) Most members can identify with the actions you already take to reduce your pain, and some others swear by hydrotherapy and gentle exercise too.

If pain is very troublesome for you then I suggest you see your GP who can refer you to a Pain Clinic where you will learn ways to cope better.

Do you know of the Spoon Theory? If you Google you will find it describes a way of pacing yourself throughout the day, which is very useful for fatigue and pain.

If you look to the right under Pinned Posts you will find ways to make the most out of the forum including locking your posts.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Hi Pain66 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.

I see bluebell99 has given you lots of info that I can't add to except to say if you look to right of screen you will see Related Posts & links to many other posts discussing pain management and I look forward to chatting on the forum.

Peace, luv n light

Hi Pain66

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I use a TENS Machine when my pain becomes too much. I have had some good results from this. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Im with bluebell99 on the Epsom salts bath but we only have a shower now but even having a foot bath with it in can sometimes help. I also gently massage something like Musselflex or Freeze gel according to what sort of ache it is and that can be soothing.

I have found my pain less at night since having an electric blanket as I put it on high whilst getting ready for bed and it warms the bed and helps relax the muscles. I am aching badly at the moment do have just turned it has n at the lowest setting and iris helping already.

As TheAuthor says a tens can really help some people.x
