Hi there, I would say if you was seeing no difference in your pain after the xmas and your surgery re opens let your

doctor know. Unfortunately not all medication works for everyone so it could be trial and error to see what if any helps reduce your pain. Good luck and I hope you can enjoy a nice xmas xx

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and information, along with a few lighthearted moments too.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find guides and links all about fibro.

If you look to the Pinned Posts on the right you will see information on how to get the best out of this site, including instructions on how to lock your post, which we always advise to protect your internet security.

Gabapentin can take up to six weeks before you notice any significant improvement. If you are finding there is little or no improvement and/or you have troublng side effects then you will need to go bck to your GP.

Unfortunately pain relief medication can largely be trial and error and what one person may do extremely well there may be another for whom the medication is practically useless, or worse experiencing side effects.

You may gain weight as Gabapentin is an appetite enhancer so you need to be aware if you are eating more than usual.

I do hope it works for you and you get relief.

Hi Rella485

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am taking Pregabalin (sister drug) and it took about a month for me. Mind you, these drugs appear to work differently for everyone so it is difficult to say really. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
