One from my stock of photos - nothing left in flower in my garden now. The first thing in the new year will be winter flowering jasmine - I'm looking forward to that. Hope you are all having the best day ever. Helen X

It is a knapweed! One that has been developed by plant breeders. They are usually purple/blue and grow wild. I have the blue ones in my garden. I think they have given them a 'posh' name as well. I love them and the bees go mad for them. The finches love the seedheads and I usually get 2 flowerings if I deadhead them. Hope that helps and you are having a pain free day. Helen X

Hi caz - I have had my garden cleared so there is not much above ground at the mo. Just a few snowdrop tips. Looking forward to the Spring when everything is sprouting again. In the meantime I am enjoying the birds on the feeders. Have a great pain free day. Helen X

I did get rid of all the shrubbery at the front because it overhung into the street and the branches were very thick, my neighbour took it to task with a commercial electric hedge trimmer,in the soil now we just have numerous bulbs and seeds (I was told the more you put down the less weeds there are) so just waiting now for giant white tulips,to pop up giant daises, poppies, daffodils (the daffs were growing up thru the lawn and so I dug them up roots en all and planted them again) I,ll post pics in the spring if they all grow.

Beautiful is it a Monarda. I inherited the blue version when I moved to this garden, the bees love it.x💮

Hi rosewine, yes I think Monarda is the official name. I know them as knapweed. They grow in the wild and the plant breeders have developed them for the garden. The bees do love them and the birds love the seeds. Have a great pain free day. Helen X

What a lovely photo. All the gardens are looking a bit bare now, especially with the harsh frosts we had last week.

I must admit and cheated with winter flowering pansies and they do cheer up the paths. I have a winter flowering jasmin but it can be temperamental, sometimes it flowers, sometimes not. The flowers when they do come are highly scented and gorgeous.

Thank you for posting

Kay

Hi bluebell - glad you like the photo. Try pruning the Jasmin immediately after it has finished flowering. If you leave it later the flower buds that have developed will be taken. Hope that helps. Have a great pain free day. Helen X
