Help with rent etc

Recently I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and currently on SSP. But my rent alone is double what I get. Can I get help even though I'm married

You need to contact your housings offices you need your last 6 wages slips then they will assess you for entitlement

and last six months bank statements and any other proof of income you may have eg; child tax credit,child benifit etc . (if you have school age children). my council wanted me to apply over the internet but i went into thier offices and applied, does take a while and they pay you a month in arrears if you are granted help. good luck x

Contact your council and request a H/B and CTB form sent out to you

complete and send in they will either awared or refuse but until you try you won't know

Hi, like the others say you can get help with council and housing benefits. If your not in receipt of working tax credits you can apply for income support. That would top up your ssp.

Good luck. I can empathise as I'm in the same boat. Last month I would have earned over £1300 but got less than £400 on ssp.
