I am not getting anywhere with my GP surgery. I am not getting far with anything. Reduce on stress they say with this injury. When no one much is helping who could where does that leave me?
The NHS cuts are a disgrace.It seems my doctors vare being paid not to do anything for me.
Very very frustrating. On the 28th of September 2016 I sustained a head injury that was confirmed by a GP the next day. On the 11th October 2016 I saw a different GP because the headaches were worse. He did not want to do anything for me. No tablets, scans such as MRI or CAT. The head pain got even worse. I went to A and E. They said get your GP to send you for an MRI. They gave me pain relief. I eventually got to see a GP who refused to send me for an MRI. I asked why not. His reply was that he did not want me sent from post to pillar and he had my best interests at heart. I could always come to the surgery. Given that I had been twice of this week and have got no where what is the point? He refused to make a referral to a neurologist and the doctor I saw of the Tuesday said there were no head injury specialists which is not true.In the interim period I have tried to change surgery but of course this has failed. Another pack of lies going on there I am left in pain with not much hope. The people you are meant to get help from don't want to know. I did record the last interview. Next on my to do list is contact the health authority to see if they will allocate me a surgery. Of course it is the weekend now and they are closed. I will go to the chemist to see about migraine tablets that I think the head pain is and buy them there. My GP never asked what type of pain had I had and said I don't have a letter from the A and E department so how do I know you have been? I expect they want some sort of receipt next time round. I have had really bad concussion problems that won't let up. I have had two paid chiropractor treatments since the collision of two weeks ago. Not a car accident. The NHS has gone on holiday in my case. My doctors don't want to do anything. I have to collect my medical card from the surgery that did not want me.The lie they gave me over the phone was I am not in the catchment area. Why take my application then? I was told they were by my practice manager in my present rubbish surgery. Things to do as well...write to MP.Contact media. Please message. No I don't have someone to look after me. Another sore issue. I have contacted the head injury group charity but my brain power needs conserving for the rubbish situation I find myself in.

So sorry to read your post. I am speechless that they would treat any type of head injury this way.
Just a bit of information for you:-
"The GP practice must accept you, unless there are reasonable grounds to refuse you. These must not relate to race, gender, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation, appearance, disability or a medical condition. It must also give you reasons for its decision in writing. A GP practice may refuse to register you because:
it has no capacity to take on new patients
it may not be accepting patients that do not live within its practice boundary
in your particular circumstances, it may not be appropriate for you to register with a practice that is a long way from where you live."
You can go on NHS choices and put in your postcode and find out all the practices in your catchment area or if you have already done this and come up blank the NHS will allocate you a surgery but or course there could be some travelling involved.

I have looked on NHS choices and made a list of phone numbers and addresses of surgeries The thing with my doctors now is that they do not believeme, that Ii have been injured. They have said things like "what are you worrying about" Your not having a bleed in your head. How do they know when there are other tests like an MRI that can rule it out.Why did the head pain get substantional worse then? I have to move now. .Never ending sarcasm from them.
Brick walls everywhere, I know the feeling. Have you phoned up the NHS can't remember what phone line ?
And I think I might be inclined to go back to A&E and ask for help again or a walk in centre.
I have changed surgeries 3 times living at same address over many years and changed GPs in same surgery. And thinking along these lines, how about having a word with the practice manager at your present surgery in order to mention your concerns and if She or he can suggest an alternative GP or what you can do. In the meantime if at all possible try and rest as much as you can. Good luck
Oh thank you for your message. I am less alone now. We have lonely journeys. One step forward and two back. These doctors are supposed to help not insult and dehumanize. The morphine is making me fat. That has worn off and pain and frustrations remain with fatigue and me throwing things totally out of character. Bernadette
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I am flummoxed that they are not taking a head injury seriously? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with finding a new surgery and please take care my friend.
They can not see it so would much rather believe it did not happen and if it did I was told go away and take a paracetamol. I said I had and it didn't work. They don't want to do anything for me. How can they live with themselves?
