Hi Mandywoo, i was only diagnosed with fibro last month though i know, because of my symptoms that i have actually had it for a long time & my GP has said that she tends to agree with me, if only i could have seen her sooner but at our surgery you take an appointment with who is available at the time & she wasn't.in answer to your question, fibro affects people in different ways & at different times, for me i am never pain free & my pain does worsen early evening i think it may be due to tiredness,i am tired all the time but in the evening it is extreme or it may be due to the after effects of what i do during the day? I hope your fibro symptoms are not causing you too much pain.I hope this helps & take care...

Hi

Welcome.

I can only tell you what I experience and mine is normally worse in the morning and gradually get a wee bit better by the evening.

The thing with fibro is though, that we all suffer slightly differently and have different symptoms and different reactions to meds.

What is normally a constant is we all suffer many different areas of pain 24/7 and can sort of cope with help, but have phases when we have a flare up for a period of time, that is much worse. Things like over doing it, stress, illness can bring these on.

The mother page has helpful info and the NHS has a web page on it too.

We try to be helpful and supportive and bring some humour into people's lives, which we need when in so much pain.

We will try to help you as much as we can, but when you need advice on certain things like meds and drags, it's always best to see a dr, as were not qualified.

Please post and let us get to know you and hopefully help you.

Take care and best wishes.

Hi Mandywoo

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and from my personal experience I am worse in the morning. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Mandywoo. I'm also going through the stages of a diagnosis. Sorry to hear that you are suffering. My pain and fatigue are usually worse in the evenings too, particularly if I have had a 'busy day' (I'll put that in brackets). I get tired very easily and my pain is always worse after I've been active.

Hi Mandy woo, I can relate to the pattern of your pain. I can almost tell the time by the level of pain I'm suffering. During the day, on most days, the pain is bearable, except during a flare up when I wake with invasive pain and have to take an mst. Round about 5pm onwards the pain gradually escalates until it's unbearable. It almost pulsates. I usually take 3 (10mg mst) as close to 5pm as possible but most often am still too sore to sleep at night. At least the MST works quickly unlike my previous medication which took about an hour to kick in - it was torturous. That med was DHCcontinus. You will soon establish your own way of dealing with pain and find the best medication that suits you. Sending gentle welcoming hugs to you.

hi Mandywoo, I'm new too! I had been diagnosed with Fibro! But am under gynecologist privately as I have undergone pain for past year with no answers. Untill now, perhaps I may get to the bottom of a few underlying problems. I had hormones tested which can add to bones/aches etc.. Is worth testing if already haven't?

Hi Mandywoo,

Welcome! My pain increases as the day goes on. The more I do, the more I hurt. I have to be careful to avoid repetitive tasks and alternate hands and arms when I absolutely have to do certain tasks like use the computer, shower, cook, clean, etc. I'm in a good place right now without a lot of stress, so I usually hurt in only one area or maybe 2 at a time. I can often massage that area and relax for a while and get rid of the pain that way.
