Hi there, I know exactly how that game go's. I have the same problem trying to see the only female Doc at my surgery. It really does suck when you find a really understanding doctor but can never get to see her at the time you have the problem ! you sure your not at my surgery karenS lol

I am quite lucky I can normally see someone in a few days. I know there is a big shortage of GP's

It's 2 weeks. That's average for our surgery if you want to see a specific GP. GPs are leaving in their droves. The young doctors coming through are not interested in becoming a GP. Our surgery is 4 GPs down. They have advertised and there hadn't been any applicants in the four weeks it had appeared. It's sad for us, the general public. Add an aging population to the mix. I don't have the answer. 🐸

My GP practice has 8 female doctors and 1 male doctor. He's the senior partner and is clearly a feminist! And he is the doctor I always choose to see because he has a particular interest in and sympathy for Fibro. The female doctors told me to see him because they don't know about Fibro, and one of them told me she still doesn't believe it exists. He, on the other hand, is very supportive.

Its a shame this seems to be nationwide!

Anyway...changing the subject, I am going out tonight with my friend for (soft) drinks and a natter. Life has changed big time for me in the last couple years....husband left me for another woman, he'd been cheating for 6 ,months! Met a new guy, got married 3 weeks ago, kids grown up, one just left school....omg no school runs after 20 years!......shes goin to uni, my sons moving house and going back to uni, amoungst other things and I have found life has turned into "existing" not living. Me and my friend used to get together all the time with the kids and go out but then kids grew up and we both started working more....anyway....said to her that this is getting silly.....we need "me" time so said ...why not meet up every fri eve for a couple of hours 😀 I have to admit this is the first time and I feel cream crackered but it will be nice and Im sure I will get a second wind once we are out. Too old and on too many tablets to go out on the lash so just soft drinks and comfy seats up the wetherspoons up the road. 😀😀😀😀😀👍.

I think I have spent way too long doing stuff for other people and then just flopping on sofa every evening, time for some me time.

It's a long time to wait but seems to be the norm - I usually have to wait 4 weeks and that's with any doctor, longer if I want a specific one x

It does seem that approx 2 weeks is the norm now. I keep getting around that time scale for appts too! It's getting worse, not better!

Hope that you feel ok soon, take care and best wishes.🌸

That does sound like a long time to wait? I am one of those surgeries whereby you ring at 8 am and they book you in (if there are appointments left) There is an online booking service which I have used a few times.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your appointment.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x :)
