Hi a few years ago I use to get this frequently ' forever on Antibiotics. For me it turned out I couldn't use soap or fabric softener, it would cause a water infection, which kept traveling to my left Kidney. And now I have scar tissue on both Kidneys. I stopped using soap and anything perfumey, and I started drinking warm water from the kettle, which helps flush your Kidneys, also lemon and barley, and Cranberry juice. I now don't seem to have infection anymore. I hope you can find your solution, and are able to stop the infections, very painfull I know. Good luck. Oh and also use to notice before periods.

Hello sorry to hear your plight..I used to have this issue. .

Was told to drink lots of water and cranberry juice to flush the system.

Old wives tale ...Bi carbonate of soda...mixed with water..

Following that I would see your doctor

Xx

yep i am forever getting water infections with no explanation or anything, i was told to cut out any fizzy drinks just for water and limit my cups of tea (oh-no!!) which is what i've done and i still get them. really frustrating. x

Best thing for kidneys and bladder is plain water, maybe a glass of cranberry ( no evidence to say any more is good). Other thing is lots of us never check colour of our wee, should be light straw colour any darker means need bore fluid. Caffeine also irritates the bladder so worth reducing ( eg. Tea, coffee, cola and energy drinks)

Hi Christinem, I have chronic kidney disease, I get cluster infections as the GP call it. As soon as I finish one lot of antibiotic it comes right back, this can last between 6 to 8 weeks at a time. I have been put on a low dose antibiotic permanently, this can cause other problems but after 6yrs of this horrible sickness I felt I had to take the chance. I don't think it's for everyone but at the moment it is working for me. I would have a long chat with your GP and ask for all the options. Good luck. Izzy x

Hi ChristineM is your doc and consultant looking at any mixture of meds you take? might be one of the reasons this keep happening? I had numerous U.T.I.s on anti epileptic drugs ! Have you been advised to drink at least 2 litres water per day? nothing better for flushing out that area.. Hope you ,re better soon. Nurse Gladys Emanuel (open all hours)

I used to have a chronic kidney infection years ago. It took about 6 months to get rid of the first episode. Seems that one of the patients I was nursing developed a new strain of bacteria, and I managed to pick it up! It was long before Fibro though 🐸

as they have intimate flora, see the review on OPTIBAC site, depending on what drugs you are taking..check with Dr first...but they worked for me...

I personally don't have this problem but my mother does and for some strange reason has three kidneys. Several years ago she had an operation on the exit valve of one of them. They are supposed to be a one way flow valve but hers was not performing this. This being fixed has really helped though not perfect.

As others have said, first drink of day, warm water and lemon juice then water or herbal tea with no milk for rest of day. Also yakult or anything similar to replace the good bacteria when your on antibiotics, not doing this can make you feel well on its own.
