I asked my GP if it was possible that I had Fibro. She was trying hard to find out what was causing all the delights Fibro brings so I was able to approach her. It has to be handled delicately as most Drs don't like to be told how to do their jobs. She said she would look into it and to see her again in 2 weeks. In that time she took a refresher course on Fibro.
Someone else may give you an alternative suggestion that isn't quite so up front. It really all depends on your relationship with your GP.
Hope you enjoy our forum, we are like a strange family lol. Very strange 😳. We all have Fibro and most have other medical conditions too. But you will find plenty support and help from those who know what they are talking about 🐸
Hi there
I guess it depends upon what sort of relationship you have with your GP.
As Sorebones has so rightly said, GP's do not like to be told.
Due to the fact that Fibromyalgia is such a complex condition, there are so many other conditions that must be ruled out before a diagnosis of Fibro can be given.
Fibro does mimic other conditions so it really is important to get them checked first.
Your bloating and stomach cramps could well be IBS which is something that does seem to come hand in hand with Fibro, but on its own it doesn't mean you have Fibro.
You could try asking for a referral to a Rheumatologist. These are the Consultants that specialise in Fibromyalgia, and see what your GP says?
Wishing you all the very best.

Thank you both. I do have a thyroid inbalancement and the Dr's put everything down to that but my pain isn't due to thyroid and my lack of getting to sleep or if I'm lucky and get sleep I feel shattered as soon as I'm up I hurt in places I didn't know I had.
Hi Cat34
Thyroid can cause all the problems you are having have you looked on the Healthcare Unlocked Thyroid site. Correct thyroxine dose makes a difference also vitamins .
I was like zombie before my thyroid treatment was sorted .
Not saying its all that but worth thinking about
Best Wishes

Hi Cat34
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which is loaded with useful Fibro information:
I think that both Sorebones and my colleague Lu (Bluemermaid) have hit it on the head. Talk to your doctor and ask about Fibro and ascertain if you can have a referral to Rheumatology. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
