They do not know what causes Fibro and they cannot cure Fibro. They can only treat the symptoms and the symptoms are many and the drugs you take for the symptoms have side effects. You have a lot of trial and error but you will find what works for you but it is a long process. This forum will share with you what each of us has found works for us. Fibro hits everyone differently . 😘

Hi frances1

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling in this way, and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. The one referral that I would ask for if I were in your position would be to see a ''Rheumatologist.'' Usually (but by no means all) Fibro diagnoses are undertaken by a Rheumatologist in my experience.

I would also ask for some simple blood tests (if you have not already had these) for your B12 levels, your Vitamin D levels and for your thyroid. Please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I agree with Ken's advice, ask for more detailed blood tests, to see if there is something else adding to your problems. Low VitB12 and low VitD can cause a lot of aches and pains, as can underactive thyroid. If your doctor has already tested these, ask for a printout of your blood test results. You can then post the results on here for more advice. Best wishes MariLiz

Hello frances Nurse Gladys Emanuel (open all hours) what other symptoms do you have as well as burning feet? Maybe feet is plantar fasciitis? IF u have fibro your muscular system with constantly hurt, legs usually first upper muscles weak and sore to touch, constant tiredness and fatigue are the next most debilitating symptoms, not sleeping-does this sound like you? Make a list before you go G,P and if he says fibromyalgia then ask for a referral to rheumatology and physio, tell him you have information that these people can offer therapies to relieve you symptoms, challenge him if he refuses!
