Itching and lack of sleep
Hi when I get the itchiness late at night - usually when I am stressed - I wrap myself in a cotton sheet also since I have gone gluten/wheat and sugar free it has stopped hope this helps -neese
Horrible that I often get it on the bottom of my arms. Like Neesey I have gone to cotton everything at night and have a pot of E45 lotion next to my bed and ladle it on the moment the itching starts. Have you started on any new medication as sometimes this can be a side effect? Do hope you can find a solution as we all need as much rest as we can.x
No not had any new meds for a while now so can't be that I was thinking I may be allergic to elastic as it tends to start when I take of my socks last thing at night
It actually sounds quite logical as the elastene stuff in them makes them keep their shape and keep them up as the old sort of socks were comfy but would always end up bunched around our ankles. I have just realised that after a night out I have taken my pop socks off and now have a strange sort of irritated kind of buzzy feeling around the top of my foot and around my ankles. I have never had this particular brand of Pop sock before and can see they have a sheen that the others don't and comparing what they are made of they have more elastene in them.
When I had a thrombosis in my legs and also when I tore some ligaments they gave me that elasticated tubi grip and in both cases they had to stop me wearing them as I came up in what I can only describe as an itchy, baby rash.
I reckon it is cotton socks for us two from now on.xxx
Hi Whitbyjet
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of Fibro information:
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue, and it could be that you are allergic to your elastic? I have a latex allergy and it affects my breathing quite severely. I would check it out with your doctor if it persists or gets any worse.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
My husband gets this and uses E45 anti itch cream on his ankles immediately after showering. It has helped a lot.
