CBT for insomnia
Hi there
I have had two courses of CBT, but neither of them have been for insomnia.
Good luck with looking into and/or trying this out.
Wishing you all the very best

Hi Barbara, I take Clonazepam for insomnia. I tried many sleep aids. This one works. It's actually used for epilepsy but works for sleep disorders. I tried Ambien, after a while it stopped working. I tried Trazodone, at first it worked great, then caused horrible nightmares and hallucinations. I would never go back on that one. It's an opioid. I tried over the counter stuff. I tried a few others I can't remember right now. Finally Clonazepam 0.5 mg 1 tablet at bedtime has been the best. Once I am asleep, I stay asleep so I get better deep REM quality sleep. I am still tired when I wake up but that's the nature of our disease. I sleep well though. I get 10-12 hours sleep and have to take a nap during the day sometimes. Hope this helps. Take care, Ivette, Chicago
No it is not something I have tried but I would think it could be helpful if it is the mind that is racing at night or the pain is keeping you awake as if you can view your pain in a different way it is bound to help. It certainly might be worth a try if you have the opportunity as it is not going to do any harm and I know that many of us are reluctant to have to try and take yet another pill with oftten the side effects to go with them. if you try it do let us know how you get on.x
Hi barbarabarker
I have not had CBT for my insomnia but I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with CBT if you decide to give it a go.
I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on ''Insomnia'' which includes treatments:

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
