You've come to the right place, great people here, very supportive and enabling. As a fellow spinal sufferer I'm curious what your condition is? I have Syringomyelia which is quite rare and poorly understood. It's hard to be in a happier place, these conditions nibble away at our confidence and undermine us. On a personal level I find this site helpful as hearing about others struggles and challenges puts my own into some perspective. Welcome.
Hi I am also new, your not alone as you will find out reading through this forum, one day at a time it's a bad syndrome to have but I feel your pain chin up x
Nice to see you on the site. You will get lots of help & support & as Sniffer says, your in the right place ☺
I have Fibro, Arthritis & degenerative nerve damage in my back, feet & am in chronic pain most of the time. I'm having more tests at the moment for worstening arthritis.
I suffer most of time with pains, pins n needles, numbness in part of foot & fingers as well as really bad muscle spasms. So you are definitely not alone, as you will soon find out.
It's funny you mention gout because this was said to me 30yrs ago but I haven't got it & never had it. It was the Fibro that gave these symptoms.
Are you under the hospital ? What medication are you taking ?. Again, there are plenty of things that you can take to give you some relief from the symptoms you mention.
I just wanted to wish you a very warm welcome to the forum
You have found a wonderful place to come and chat to people who really do understand how you feel.

Just to explain a little bit about the forum. Unlocked posts are open to anyone that signs on to the internet and can your post and all the replies you receive can be read by complete strangers.
Locked posts stay within the forum, although the first couple of hundred characters (letters) can be read.
You can find instructions on how to lock your post to the right of your screen under Pinned Posts in blue. You will also find that you will tend to get more replies to locked posts.
Are you on medication for both your Fibro and Arthritis? If not, I would highly recommend a trip to see your GP.
I do not know whether you are aware of the things that you can be referred for, by your GP? There are Pain Management Clinics, Pain Clinics, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which is basically a talking therapy, Physio and for some lucky people in the country hydrotherapy.
If there is anything at all I can help you with please let me know.
When did you last see your Rheumatologist? If it has been a while, it may be an idea to ask your GP to refer you back to him/her to see if they can suggest anything for you.
I very much look forward to chatting with you.
I feel sure that you will not feel so alone for long. I personally have had Fibro for 34 years. I have been a member of the forum for 4 years and I have been incredibly lucky to have made some wonderful lifelong friendships here.
Others have already given you a mar ellius welcome and fantastic links so I will just say welcome to the site. Now you are not alone in your fight against this illness but have the support of everyone on the site. Take care and hang on in there. Life may be different from what it used to be but there is still not to be found but perhaps in a different way than before. Look forward to reading your further posts do keep on touch with us.x
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you are suffering and struggling and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
You do not say if you are in receipt of any disability benefits? So, I have taken the liberty of pasting you the links on how to claim both ESA and PIP. So I genuinely hope that you find them useful:
