Hello I'm new to this. Six months ago I suffered a nerve impingement in my left forearm. Which went on for 3 weeks. But what followed was bizare pain in both my upper forearms below the elbow joint. And muscle type spasm pain. Which then followed a similar pain pressure chronic tightness in both my shins. I've had studies performed ultrasound mri of spine (neck region )and nerve conduction studies . Which have all come back normal. I've been suffering with health anxiety with regards to this as it's affected my job and daily routines. I'm 34 years of age. My rheumatologist has started me on gabapentin 3 wks ago and I've titrated upto 100mg 3 times a day. As she feels I have a sensory issue /possible fibromyalgia. I'm also on mirtazapine for anxiety which has been upped to 30 mg . I'm currently slightly giddy in the mornings .
Have anyone suffered similar symptoms.? Gabapentin not relieving me at all. What course of medication worked for you ?
Any information much appreciated.

The trouble with Fibromyalgia is that it is very much tailor made to each individual. Therefore the set of meds that work best for me, may actually make you worse.
As we are not medically trained it is not within our remit to 'recommend' medications to you, as this should be done by you with your GP.
I know that this reply is not very helpful and not what you were looking for, and for that I am sorry.
To add to the above, as you have not yet had a definitive diagnosis it would be quite dangerous for us to suggest meds.
Fibro is such a difficult illness to diagnose. Some of us have waited years, even decades to be diagnosed. Fibro can mimic so many other conditions, that these need to be eliminated before a definitive diagnosis can be made.
One thing I would say is that the groggy feeling you can get from some meds does wear off after a few weeks, provided that you take the tablets on a regular basis.
I really want to wish you all the very best. Please do keep us upated on how you get on.
