Hello everyone,
I normally hang out on the NRAS website as I have RA. I wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I have an extremely painful neck and shoulder that just came on out of the blue. When I say pain I mean pain. Could it be Fibro.

Sounds like it is Fibro, that is where most of my intense pain is, in the neck and shoulders. I'm no expert and the community may be able to help you further. 😊
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and it is not easy to say to be honest, it may be beneficial to get this checked out by your GP just to be sure. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

Thank you for your nice reply. I have a hospital appointment next Thursday with my nurse. Hopefully she can help. I have been to see my Dr who has said that my neck and shoulder tissues are very inflamed and the muscles have gone into spasm. I have been given Tramadol to ease the pain.
I feel bad because I have just started a new job and I am off already.
They seem to be a nice bunch of people ,but you never know.

It is what started my journey to being diagnosed with fibro and possible RD but I have also just been told after recent x rays that I now have osteoarthritis in two of the top vertebrae and this is adding to the pain in my neck shoulders and back. Best to get it checked out as it could be any of these things. Good luck gentle hugs Joolz.x
Ah that's a shame. I was diagnosed a year ago with seron negative RA.
Having tried most of the DMARDS and one bio. Humeria so far nothing has worked. I recently started a part time job ,I am a Dental nurse . I have had to go sick this week which I feel terrible about.
My mum has osteoarthritis so I know how painful this can be. Hers is all over her body and she has had surgery for it.
