PIP medical history

Hi everyone. Hope you not feeling too ill.

Well on my assessment decision it stated that what I had said met my "MEDICAL HISTORY" . I thought this meant my GP or consultant had been contacted. I checked and they were not contacted. DWP have now informed me that MEDICAL HISTORY is what I told them. How can that be right. No wonder there is so much fraud. If our illnesses are not confirmed how can we be assessed in less than an hour by a "Nurse". And as for the muscular skeletal examination well that's a joke. Does anyone else feel that the assessment is a unfair and does not reflect the pain we suffer daily.

I got my letter today, I was turned down because I'm not on medication for my anxiety, and my cognative function must be fine because I have access to the Internet. It also appears that my husband having to put my medication in a weekly pill container and remind me to take it 3 times a day means I manage it!

It is a complete joke. Also because I can take 7 away from 100 using my fingers means I can do complex sums and look after my own finances.

Sorry rant over. It is just all so stupid!

I am so genuinely sorry to read that, but I am not surprised! I have not been through the mill myself! Good luck with your claim.

All my hopes and dreams for you

It's a complete joke decent people are being degraded so the government can save some money the nurses who my husband had as well should spend a day in our homes then they would have a better idea what our lives are like my husband's asser left out all the important information and told a pack of lies on his report don't know how they sleep at night

I really think that Nurses and physiotherapists are not qualified enough to administer these Assessments. As a former nurse myself, I would't do it!

I went for ass when the report came it was like I was reading about some one else!!!!!

She kept saying oh bless you, then she said I could un zip my bag if she had really looked at my bag she would have seen it had a flap and magnetic fastener. She said I did Internet banking NO I don't, she also said I stood in the playground talking to others when if I picked my granddaughters up NO. There is a long list of others that are totally wrong. How can we feel confident in putting ourselves through these ass if they don't put down what we say!!! Sorry for rant

I have had something similar where twice now I have been sent to occupational health at work and they have misrepresented what I said. The first time the person said that I was purposely endangering my eyesight by on taking the advice of access to work. This made me cry as I am losing my sight and it really distresses me. Who would endanger their sight purposely? I complained and had the person remove this statement from the report - but I never got an apology.

Unfortunately there are too many people in the caring profession who just DON'T CARE..

So keep up the campaign of complaining. Squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I was very unhappy with both the way that the assessment was conducted together with the inaccurate content of the report. I made a complaint to the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I have been informed that ATOS will be providing some further training to the nurse involved.

My advice is to complain if you think that the medical practitioner has not dealt with you in a caring manner and has produced an inaccurate report. Sooner or later something will have to be done if the bad practitioners out there keep getting complaints.

Of course, the other option is to request that the assessment be tape recorded. That is what I will be doing in the future.

I am going to appeal. When I requested a copy of the assessment I was told it would take 2 weeks.in this day of fast internet and systems why so long I have to submit my appeal form before then. They want to hinder us as much as possible. It bad enough being ill and in pain without having to now go through the stress of a tribunal.
