My pledge to living my life.

I been wallowing a bit since my diagnosis of fibromyalgia last Monday I am now ready to be me and cope with this condition in my own way note I have a condition not an illness. I know I will have moments of what I will now and for ever call waves of melancholy (the very word depression takes me into a downward spiral). I know the pain will haunt my days and nights though I will with the help of my loved ones and the aid of a fitbit to monitor my activities and sleep patterns and learn the extent of my limits to enable me to live life.

Good for you :-) we just have to keep going day by day. X

It is something that we all learn, it does take some longer than others but we all get there in the end.

Sue :) xx

I am a naturally glass half full kinda girl and have not liked the me I have been this week so I had a heart to heart with myself and will bear my pledge in mind when the days are bad as today has been.

Dont forget that now you come first and to take care of your self by not trying to do too much. It no work and you just end up playing snakes and ladders.

Good day climb the ladders and overdo it and down the snake you go back to the bad days. :)

I agree with Sue we all learn our own way with this, good for you, having a positive attitude certainly helps. Some of us are more fortunate with the care and support of our families others sadly find each day a real struggle. All best wishes. Lou xx

Some great replies - thank you. I know I am fortunate with my support network, which includes my cousin she was diagnosed fibromyalgia several years ago. Sending positive thoughts out to you all and may you have a restful night.

A fitbit is a device that measures activity and sleep you can find them via an Internet search I bought mine from my weight watchers meeting.

Well done you Weirdsewing, an admirable attitude which I hope you manage to sustain you through all the foibles that Fibro throws at us. I must look into a Fitbit, someone mentioned it to me the other day, but I injured my back rather badly and haven't really given it thought, but I should and will.

I really wish you well and am sending lots of positive vibes your way😀😀

Day by day....l find it helps to write down something positive about the day before I go to sleep....helps more than all the recording of symptoms and pain levels l do for the different clinics l attend...so now do these daily at 6ish..

Hopefully you'll have a good day today

I agree. I make a lot of the good days, and then the bad aren't quite so wasted. They're not really if you're regrouping your resources.

No I am using it to record my sleep pattern and monitor my normal daily movements to try to work out my limits.

I am not a good diary keep and dislike recording negative things so a postive diary appeals to me.
