Heart flutters

Hi everyone, I keep feeling my heart kind of "fluttering" only for a few seconds before it rectifies itself, do I need to be worried? It has happened a few times over the last couple of days.....I am not breathless or have any pain in my chest, is this yet another fibro symptom??

This is something that should be checked out, I have this sometimes usually stress with me. Never assume its fibro related. Lou xx

Hi there paddysmum,

I was diagnosed with fibro over 40 years. Then out of the blue four years ago developed a condition called Atrial Fibullation.

Whether the two conditions are connected l don't know.

Any irregularity of the heart needs to be checked out and monitored by your GP.

I am sure in your case it is nothing to worry about just a few palpitations or ectopic flutters which are quite normal but better to be safe rather than sorry.

Take care,

Carol.

Probably nothing as fibro throes out some funny symptoms but any heart ones should never be ignored so like the others I feel you should just go and have it checked out to be on the safe side.x

It could be Fibro related but anything of this nature is best to get it looked at by your GP. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I have had a Mitral Valve Prolapse of my heart for many years, which I have now read CAN be a symptom of FM. Many people have it ... mainly women ... and I am told it is not life threatening, just annoying! To me, it feels like the fluttering wings of a bird, or that my heart is flipping over ...

BUT, you should seek your doctor's attention re YOUR symptoms, paddysmum ... because everyone is different, and you don't want to let something serious go unattended!!! Be smart! Hugs, bk

I recently had a bout of my heart fluttering like that. It went on for about 15mins. As I was getting more and more concerned I rang the Drs. He helped me check my pulse, assured me nothing to worry about, but said its a muscle thing. He suggested I get a bowl of cold water with lots of ice, and plunge my face into it! Brilliant it worked! He said it would just jump start everything, and it did!

But obviously it might not be the same thing, so get it checked out

Thank you for this, ice water enough to give me a heart attack....do hate being cold and wet! I do intend visiting my GP though, thanks again.

be aware that if an ecg is done, unless your heart flutters while on it, you will get told it didnt show anything, but that doesnt mean nothing is wrong, it just means they didnt see it in action during recording time, so in that case you may want to ask for a holter monitor to wear at home to catch them. They must see the problem in action to be able to identify,

I have heart flutters and struggle climbing steep stairs am being put on a 48hour portable ECG on Monday but my Gp doesn't think they will find anything. I am also over sensitive to smells and pain so I think maybe this is part of being over sensitive to what is going on with my system I don't know.
