Hi everyone, so me and the hubby just did our life insurance online and it asked about fibro, anxiety, tumor so filled it all in,then it said it would need looking into which I suppose I expected. Hi Keeleybee

How are you?

I can't get it, but I didn't expect to lol.

When I had my first cancer 27 years ago, they said I could have it but had to pay I lot higher premium. Things change don't know how it is now.

Fingers crossed. Hope you having good day.

Hi trace :-)

I bet they will write to my doctor's and go from there... Oh well...

Yeah I'm ok thanks, had a horrendous 2 days and got a rash all on my face and neck :-( I think it's from my mum's perfume? Iv moved up to my parent's as they have gone on a cruise for two weeks and my bbrother who is 15 never wants to go so me being nice moved here. I always flare up when I come and stay here, there house is big and the bed isn't like mine and they have a hard leather sofa so body kills! It's ok tho my Dad gives me loads of money to feed everyone and stuff so I don't mind :-) there really good to us so like to repay them this way :-)

I have never been asked and the last insurance I took out was two years ago (my over 50s plans) and they never asked any questions at all, lucky me!

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with getting a good insurance quote.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Mine was a cell tumor apparently very rare think the stats were 1 person in a million per year. I saw a picture of it when I was being operated on, was under for 5 hours as it had grown all through my arm/hand the doctor God bless him managed to save my hand and arm. It looked like a green cauliflower. I'm in remission now it was remove. 3 years ago. Sorry you have a tumor are you having it removed? X

Hi, Thanks for you reply. Mine is a brain tumour, I am waiting to see if it is cancerous or benign, if it is benign it has to be removed as it is very large. This on top of the fibro and severe back pain, never been ill in my life before a couple of years ago,

Hello Keeleybee,

Ah, the wonderful world of insurance. It has cost me double my wife's premium to get insurance and this was after much research to find an insurance company.

Travel insurance was £100 per week effectively for travel to the USA. Luckily, I managed to get annual cover for £200 through an insurer that deals with a group that I belong to.

I am having a big bunfight at the moment with an insurance provider about a total disability claim. They say I do not meet their criteria.

It strikes me that we are disabled when they want to charge us for cover and not when it comes to paying out!

Good luck.

Best wishes.

Dave

I got cover with Legal and General in the end, maybe give them a try?

Best wishes,

Dave

I've just tried to get life insurance cover with legal and general. They've said they won't cover me if I've had a fibromyalgia flare within the last year. I don't understand. It's not a life threatening disorder. I'm going to get an over 50s with someone else.

I went through a comparison website recently and declared all of my conditions. I got cover with a company called Beadle Street. Maybe give that a go.

It's about time an Insurance Co. offered a package for folk with long term conditions; likely to be expensive, though!
