Still getting even better.

I woke up this morning after another good nights sleep. Watched airplane! On DVD. Always gives me a giggle. Then korn's deuce video. Had a nice dinner again. And a GU lemon pudding. (They were half price in tesco this week so I thought I'll have some of that!!!'). Went to bed about 11:45 pm. Again woke at , took my hydrocortisone and back to sleep with the help of a diazepam. Woke up at 9:30 when my alarm went off. I am now officially pain free. Everywhere.

Just hope it keeps going.

I went out the evening and it involved a mile walk to the pub and a mile back. No pain in feet, legs anything. A week ago I would have stopped to rest my feet about every 100 yds. Tonight strolled down there like I would have done 2 years ago before this hit me. Even on good days I could never have walked that far.

So what has happened to make me so much better? Just hope it stays like this.

Hope I don't wake up one morning and find that I can hardly move again.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Pete

I've walked a couple of miles tonight with no pain or aches. Will see how I am in the morning. If it hurts I'll know I've done to much. If not then looking good

I know exactly how you feel. Two weeks ago I was having to stop at least once every hundred yards

I was out of breath, my feet were agony and my calf muscles felt like they had no blood supply. I saw a cardio vascular specialist who took my blood pressure all the way down my legs and it was fine as he put it. Then he put a microphone type thing onto the artery on my ankle. It was thump thump thump. He said I didn't have cardiovascular disease but mug have compartment syndrome. This is where the sinew that holds the muscle strands won't expand, so the muscle expands inwards and blocks the artery to the lower leg and feet. They won't repair it unless it's an acute case which could cause amputation. The repair involves opening the calf, cutting the sinew then leaving the whole lot open for two weeks. So they don't like doing it in case of infection. The pains in my feet and hands are, they think, rebound neuropathy. After being controlled by prednisolone for 18 years, now it's been removed, it ends up with every single pain nerve in your hands and feet all firing at the same time. Result agony and it can last up to twelve-fourteen days. On a scale of 1-10 were talking 8-9. The only thing that stops it is morphine. However this week I have had no pain, no aches, no shortness of breath, and today I have walked about 3 miles with 2 breaks. And no pain. But I'll judge that tomorrow morning coz it's normally the day after when the severe pain occurs.

But I can't understand it. Unless my own adrenals starting up again. I'm now down to 20mg HC a day and only 5 mg above the target level.

Having a cortisol curve taken tomorrow. If it shows cortisol in my 9:00 blood test before I've taken my first dose of HC, then there's only one place it could have come from. My adrenals.

I just hope that it will carry on improving until my adrenals can do the job themselves. Then ill be steroid tablet free. And no need for azathioprine, but I'll stay on that to help my adrenals control my immune system.

This is as close to a miracle that I have experienced as couldn't hardly move without morphine.

Now no morphine needed, HC lowered by 10mg. And no pain whatsover. Except from the arthritis in my hands. But even that's improved. I only wish a could share this miracle with everyone on the site. Then hopefully you would all be well. That would make me extremely happy.
