I am so sorry to read you are in so much pain Molind.

Sending you some peace and hope you can ask the GP for a referral to the rheumatologist to find out about other medications and support for you.

Have a better day if you can,

Best Wishes

Sue

Hello Molind.

I am sorry to hear about the amount of pain that you are in.

It sounds like your care co-ordinator may have a point so it would do no harm asking your GP to refer you to a Rheumatologist. That way they can either give you a diagnosis or exclude it as a possibility.

My experience is that they exclude lots of things in order to establish that the last thing remaining is what you have got. In any event you do not have to be suffering from pain all the time.

If the meds are not working then speak to the GP about your options, is there a different pain killer or combination that you could try?

You could also ask if there are any other treatments that could help you. For example, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy or acupuncture.

Do you treat yourself at home, for example using warmth on the joint or icing it. Do you have a TENS machine that you could try?

The psychological aspect of living with pain in the long term should also be considered. For example, having a chat with a therapist or being referred to the pain clinic.

I really do hope that you will find a treatment or medication that works for you.

All the best.

Dave
