I too found this very interesting, so thank you Weetam ππ» The sufferers of Reading are indeed very lucky to have such a good MP to put their case into such a forum. Maybe we all need to ballot our MPs and give them information so that another such meeting could be brought about and be much better attended, with MPs having much more information gleaned from us, so that a more constructive and effective debate can be held - I found it rather sad that there were so few attending the debate ! To raise awareness must to my mind be paramount, particularly with regard to getting more GPs better informed, and whatever we can do I feel we are beholden to, as sufferers, to achieve this aim.
Foggy x
Hi Foggy..... you mention getting doctors better informed... there is an information pack available on the front page of the "New" FMAUK website (as mentioned in another post on here)... which we can request to be sent anonymously to our doctors... maybe we could all ask for one to be sent to our own doctor ( and maybe even our MP) ... this can only help to spread the word !
With tears in my eyes I listened to this and hope and pray that this is just the start of awareness where it is needed. Thank you weetam. Gentle hugs Joolz.x
Than you for posting this, it will help the many forum members who come up against awful prejudice in the workplace and many who are not believed. Lou
Thank You Weetam - a good debate with interesting points regarding pathways for Health Care Professionals, Education, Awareness & issues faced in employment regarding the understanding of this condition.
Great to hear Fibromyalgia Action UK mentioned and Pam Stewart & Ella Vine their as representatives of FMAUK
Some positive discussion about ideas to address it national and hopefully these will come to fruition.
Best Wishes

I didn't fully understand the problems many of you where having. I am so sorry. Here in U.S. It is a little more accepted I guess is the word. Many doctors know about Fibro even if it is still a debate. I was first diagnosed in the 70s as a child. I did go through many docs that didn't believe it was an illness but at least they where aware of it. For the last several years I have had the benefit of having a neurologist treating me for not only fibromyalgia but spine problems. I truly hope that more of your doctors become aware of fibromyalgia.
Thankyou for making this aware, it is interesting and very positive, with good awareness. x
not many turned up for the debate good points made and this site was mentioned hope we do get more awareness or it thanks for posting
I had watched this early on but thanks for the link.
Thank you Weetam for posting this link. I really hope it has a positive impact on GPs awareness and perception of this horrible disease.
Gentle hugs, Becky x
Thank you for posting, it was interesting. Though very short, did they resume the session?
Thank you for this. I have watched with interest. Perhaps now more attention will be paid to this debilating condition. If a soap was to have a character with this condition. I think this would act as a catalyst for recognition.
