hi all im on dla low rate mobility, middle rate care but my illness has got really bad, I was thinking of ringing them and telling them this and going over to pip to be reassessed. does anyone think its worth it as I could loose what ive got

Nice to meet you

I can understand how you feel and I am too scared to apply for PIP

I was originally on high rate Dla both parts then myself and my husband split up and I was due to be reassessed and its been awful I now live in sheltered housing flat which I love but I was given high mobility and low care nothing had changed with regard to my illness but the Dr assessing me said as I had more aid and adaptation I would only get low care .i contacted welfare rights at the time and they thought it was not worth taking it to tribunal . I now have carers coming in everyday and I know that brown envelope will hit the floor .its just do we jump or are we going to be pushed .

I think if I could get some help at home to fill in the Pip form then I would jump !,

so what your saying is if you have aids ie stocks ect they don't give you anything, maybe I cant read it right

Nigel in my case they the DLA changed me to lower RATE care as had a lift so didn't need to do stairs ,had a chair shower where as before I could not get in a bath and I had care link button for help. There is a self test Pip that will do an quick assessment and works out the points you get depending on pip criteria ,try benefits and work or gov.uk

There is no guarantee that you would be assessed again for PIP, it would depend on what the situation is in your area, as you could be simply reassessed for DLA at this time.
