Hi, I've been told that I may have fibromyalgia. The GP wants bloods done to exclude any other causes for my symptoms but thinks it is FMS. I've read up quite a bit over the last few days and still trying to get my head around it all. I just wanted to say hi and see if anyone had any tips or advice on pain management at this early stage? Thanks in advance, Emma

Hi, new to all this!
Hi Mumsiana and welcome,
You've come to a good site with alot of knowledge and nice peeps.
Your Dr should put you through alot of tests to rule out other conditions before diagnosing Fibromyalgia. Right diagnosis is so so important.
Good luck x

If I could give any sufferer just one tip it would be to pace yourself so you do not get too much pain.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Emma, Ken has given you the info to look up, but I just wanted to say hello. This is a fantastic forum with some very serious topics covered and a lot of light hearted banter Since joining the forum I have found out a lot if information about Fibro and enjoyed some very good conversations I hope you have as good and experience as I have
Hi Emma, yes I am another FM sufferer, have been for about 15yrs. Not nice. I go through different stages , some days are better than others. I have just put up with it & tried to get on with my life, but as I get older, am 68 now, its getting harder for me, ageing has its aches & pains also. I have only just found HealthUnlock and find everyone friendly & willing to help with anyone's problems. So welcome Emma, hope you find the same. x
