Hi Brightstar1

Welcome to the forum and I sincerely hope that you find it useful, informative and loads of fun! I have pasted you a link to our mother site, FibroAction which hosts loads of useful Fibro information.

I do not take Morphine myself, for my Fibro I have Nortriptyline, Pregabalin, Metocloperamide and Co-Codamol. However, my Neurologist wants me to cut down on my Co-Codamol.

I genuinely look forward to seeing you around the forum.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hello

I also have terrible fibro pains nearly all the time. I take a mixture of pain relief. OxyNorm which is morphine tablets as liquid did nothing for me, paracetamol and lower dose of OxyNorm for work, which is 3 mornings a week. Zapain which is codeine and paracetamol mixed together and morphine patches.

Obviously I don't take all together but I do swap them around as my body gets used to them.

Wishing you well, take care

Lottie

Hi, you are not alone. I'm on MSD (Morphine tablets), gabapentin, morphine liquid, diazapam, amitriptline and zapain (30/500 co-codemol), and often these are no way near sufficient. I was rushed into hospital with severe back spasms earlier in the year, as the pain was so bad that if i breathed in, i was unable to breath out, because the pain in my back, my side to my chest was unbearable. I screamed A&E down each time they took the gas and air off me, and I almost strangled a nurse through the tears, when she said 'you are on so many pain killers, you have had morphine, and gas and air, you don't have that much pain!!'

Thankfully another nurse had just come on shift, who i knew personally, and explained to the others that I may be on a high amount, but it still isn't sufficient for my pain and as I'd been taking them for almost 4 years, giving me 5mls of oramorph was like giving me a spoonful of water!!

Hi Brightstar

I am on the slow release morphine tablets those morning and evening and then i take oromorph for the breakthrough pain during the day if i cant get it under control. I am also on other drugs but am unable to take anti inflammatories as the upset my stomach. I hope you manage to get some help on here there is lots of advice on things to try and help you with pain or finances or lots of other things.

Have a look around everyone is very friendly and never feel afraid to ask things as there is always someone around that can either give you advice or point you in the right direction.

Your lucky, my Dr won't prescribe anything other than paracetamol 500mg, and they are useless, and there are times I can't get out of house because of the pain

Hi, yes I am on mst (a really high dose) and have been for a long time, the docs have just kept increasing the dosage. I'm also on dihydrocodeine, I find I need the extra pain relief for my arthritis and herniated discs in my back. I cried when my gp first put me on morphine, a very long time ago, I felt it was a milestone of what was to come! It was however, what's the alternative? Prolonged Physical pain affects all aspects of our lives as well you know, to think of that with no help to try and contain it, is unbearable. Please accept any and all help that is given, (if not given, ask for it) guilt free, after all we didn't ask for or deserve any of this pain!!

Warmest regards

S xx
