Claims to Personal Independence Payment are started over the

phone by calling the PIP new claims number - 0800 917 2222 (or

text phone [phone]).

Once the claim has been registered, DWP will send the claimant a

PIP2 ‘How your disability affects you’ form for completion. You'll

see that the form is personalised with the details of the individual

claimant.

Forms cannot be copied or used for other claimants. Please do not

try to use printed versions of this form.

Now you have to talk to them first. So before anyone does seek advice in advance because what you say cn make or break a claim

I extended the time frame to hand my form in since I needed CAB to help I haven't got an appointment and had to do it myself.

The time for handing it in has surpassed, because I want to get my doctors letter and a relative to do a letter to support my claim.

Will I still be able to claim should I call them?

Thanks hamble99b. .. I will phone them and I also realised I have my medical assessment tomorrow when I haven't claimed ESA so I'll have to call them too and sign off. This makes new so disorganised.

They are trying all they can to make it hard to get! As if it was not hard already? I have been going though the PIP criteria and only when I have seen what they are looking for and what I have been saying has been so wrong before. Down to Aids I use to get though a day I have not mentioned them but use them. Not realised how much my wife helps me though the day? Because it has become our normal! It goes on.

I was actually visited by the DWP home visiting team who helped me to complete my PIP form. The appointment I had was past the form due date, but I was told this was ok due to the time the took to send some. I did not have any problems. So maybe it is worth enquiring.
