How long does it take between sending in esa form to recieving an appointment for a medical?

How long does it take after they recieve the filled in esa form to get an appointment? Do they write to you with appointment or do they just phone?

They write to you with an appointment date, if it is not suitable you ring up and change it. It does not take too long between the form and the lettter to invite you into a medical. Dont wear a coat or let them see you put it on or carry a bag, these were things that I did that deemed me fit for work! Its little things like this they look at or even just the fact that you filled out your own form!

I will give you my experience: filled in my ESA form and sent it back before christmas, I still havent had my letter for an appt yet...I phoned ATOS and was told that I would be getting it at the end of March...funny that, just in time for the new rules about appealing to come into force. Hi

I sent my form off and waited for 5 months. Then I was told I had got straight into the support group without needing a medical, the whole system is absolutely swamped. You may be lucky and not need to be assessed, they can make a decision based on your form and any other evidence from your GP. How long have you been waiting?
