Sleep was not on the agenda again last night. Onwards and upwards ☺

Another looooong night! !!!
Thanks schalkies, could words ever be more true?!
So true, last night was a long one. The more I thought about having to wake up early the more I was awake.
Me too Betty, I'm off to stay at a friends later and I knew I had to be up early to get packing etc., done and the same thing happens to me all the time
How you doing today my friend ( she says half jealously knowing that Betty won't be having the gales and torrential rain I am )
You have not been following the forecasts, we have had floods, uprooted trees and cancelled planes.
Had Sunday lunch over looking the Mediterranean and watching the lighting across the waves. I was on the fourth floor and seaweed had been blown on to the balcony. then it stops and blue skies and warm again.
Oh my word, I'm sorry Betty, I hope everyone is safe and sound.
That though is the difference between where you are and here, you have a massive storm and then it's back to clear blue skies and warm.
Having said that the storms have cleared through here too and it's now sunny, but I got stuck between a fallen tree and a tractor and trailer who couldn't reverse, on my way out here this morning. It took about an hour for the tree to be cleared to the side of the road and I could resume my journey.
Sending you lots of positive vibes my friend

yes as I was safe and dry I just enjoyed god's fireworks.
Hour is a long time but good that tree did not fall on anyone.
On a completely different tack found a shop that delivered water to the flat - no minimum order. Very happy bunny - no anyway a creature that likes water.
Yay that must be good news
I must say I wasn't scrupulous about brushing my teeth in bottled water when on Kos, was told afterwards that I should have been....... Stupid, stupid Foggy
Me too. Couldn't sleep. Finally did and feel knackered. Ache all over and really need to get up otherwise I'll be late for work again.
Describes my night tonight! Betty you pegged it on the nose...I have one of my rare morning appointments tomorrow (actually, later this morning) & even w/medication sleep is far, far away. Ugh!
I know that feeling. That's ever night for me at the moment, I can't remember the last time I slept through the night. I don't take sleeping tablets anymore because I've tried every one the Dr has offered me and nothing works. I would give anything for a good nights sleep.
I would have been ok if it wasnt for Restless legs, Gastric reflux and needing lots of wees.
Sue
(((((Sue))))) poor you and those horrid legs, tho I'm with you in the "need to pee" front !!
For me too it was another endless night. Why can't we sleep? Other than pain causing it? Yet when fatigue hits I fall asleep before I have a chance to drink my tea.
How about Fibro-Parties for those nights?
Very gentle hugs and matchsticks
Xx
Yay, you start them ursi, and I'll be there like a shot

You sure you can cope with Essex nights!???
Eeeeekkk I might stick out like a country bumpkin, so maybe I will just skulk in a corner

Thanks everyone I love this forum so much whenever I'm feeling alone I pop in and know I'm not. I'm not the only one that doesn't sleep, that has to pop to the loo all night, that suffers with anxiety is in constant pain, has a gp that is dismissive etc etc etc the list is too long. Have a good day everyone, keep smiling in the face of adversity because then it can never win!!
Hi there, as a founder member of the "Wide Awake Club" I completely and utterly agree. For me here in Devon I think it was the noise of the gales last night which kept me awake, but then I have to find an excuse for being awake most nights !!
I think Ken should, as an author right the definitive novel on it, he is an owl for sure

im so glad u are all here to make me feel less alone, i have RLS, and PLMD too but i can fall asleep cos of meds and meditation but get about 4hrs average, till the middle of the day or of course if i need to be halfway human then this wkend i catch the flu, happy days eh pfffft !!

Very gentle hugs and get better soon xx
lol, will do ursi, many thanks, believe me i think someone has it in for me lol u take care sweet xx
Me neither!!! O well, such is life!,
In a way it is a relief that I was not the only one awake last night but of course sympathies with everyone. I saw my GP a couple of weeks ago to ask her about Circadin (melatonin) which can be taken for up to thirteen weeks to help regulate sleep patterns. I have tried this - been on it for roughly three weeks now but find that it works sometimes ...... it certainly helps with a deeper sleep but has not yet cured the problem. I was not expecting a quick fix! It can make you feel a bit dozy the next day so I am careful not to take if I know I am going to have an early start and be driving the next day.
I have found that meditation helps me get off to sleep. Take a look at Headspace.com. You can download 10 ten minute sessions for free and then go on to subscribe if you want to. The website is certainly worth looking at - I won't say any more here and even though the meditation is meant to be done during the day it certainly works for me at night. Okay, I may wake up a couple of hours or less later but I do live in hope of it getting better. As is mentioned in the above posts, it is often pain and discomfort that wakes us up anyway.
Thank you to all who post - it is comforting to know that there are others who suffer the same symptoms as me out there - sometimes I think I am going crazy as some of the symptoms are so odd (itchy skin with no rash for one!). I do wish you all a good week and hope that we all get some sleep tonight!!
