if you some types of DLA or the new equivalent PIP then your tax credits are increased so your first step if you want to claim this is to claim PIP gov.uk/pip/overview.

Good luck

If you get higher rate DLA then it is automatic but not sure what the new criteria is but agree fingers cross. As my grand said ask for an accept help where you can get it. All the best.

Hi 55LADY

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I see that Betty67 has pasted you the link for PIP, so I have pasted you a link to a pdf from the HMRC about disability tax credits, so I hope that you find it useful:

hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/tc956.pdf

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your claim.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I was wary about claiming DLA and tax credits but had a dream where my grandmother who I really admired told me to ask for and accept all the help I could get. She also told me once to eat more beat a month before i found I was iron deficient.

Its just do I give up work then go through the stress of not having any money to live on , read lots of posts & seems lots of sufferers are let down with the system.. Head in a spin lol

Have doctors this afternoon follow up after blood tests.

Afternoon Everyone. Visit to Doc which was a different one with a different view. examined my legs because they seem to be getting thinner with the pain the last few months. Results of Blood boarder line with Thyroid , back in 3months also another investigation of blood with the Thyroid check 3months which she didn't say what! Taken me of Tramadol only been a week done nothing for me. Trail once again on Amitriptyline 10mg Co-codamol & 400 mg Ibuprofen which I find only one works but had to have a break from then due to sickness. Have Omeprazole to reduce sickness, Fultium -D twice a day for month but only prescript 30. Asked if I attend Pain clinic, not once been forwarded to one just feel going round in circles. Resting here but in much pain hopefully till ease through the afternoon. Sorry about negative Post hope your free from pain & having a Nice Monday.

Hi 55 lady it's me again, just read about your trip to docs, low vitamin d causes a lot of pain so you should start to see an improvement but not sure how long. Also Epsom salts in bath is very good for muscle pain. You can also get a magnesium spray which does same and helps to spray on legs at night. I actually just spray my feet now and that seems to spread through legs it stops most of the painful cramping of muscle jerking which tends to happen at night. All the best

I enquired about claiming extra tax credits on the grounds of my partners disabilities and was told if he wasnt getting DLA or PIP then he was not entitled to anything. So i found the gov information totally confusing.

55lady hi, you can claim pip whilst working any amount of hours or not at all. If you have to give up work you will need to apply for ESA, benefit for people to ill to work. You can also go see a disability advice worker at local job centre and tell them your difficulties at work, they may have suggestions, there are rules about making accomadation in work for people sick or disabled. I think it is occupational health, either within company or local council, who will come and speak to you to see if there are any changes that can be made or equipment that can be supplied (like adapted chairs etc) to help keep you in work. All the best
