Has any one been diagnosed with Elliptocytosis - a blood condition?
Hi hetty64
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I had not heard of this and so I thought I would do a bit of reading! From what I can gather most of the (reputable) medical websites say it is misshaped red blood cells, and that it can be heredity. Is that what you have been told?
I have pasted you two of the better links pertaining to this and I really hope that you find them useful:
nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/enc...
patient.co.uk/doctor/Haemol...
I was wondering what your symptoms are with this? Sorry, I am just genuinely curious?
I want to wish you all the best of luck with this and I really hope that another member who may have the disorder can help shed some light on your question?
All my hopes and dreams for you

Thanks for your reply Ken, I have known about this condition my whole life, and both my siblings also have it as we inherited it from our father. Only one of my two children have inherited this. I was interested as one of the symptoms is a deficiency in B12 and thought there may be a link between this and Fibromyalgia. The GP's just brush this diagnosis aside when I ask if it could be responsible for my fatigue. I do not have anaemia, which is common with the blood condition.
If anybody has any insight please let me know.
Many thanks,
Hetty64
