Too true, still have scars. You think they've taken it then go to a corner and spit it out. Not daft!!

I used to pop the little cats into a welly so they could not scratch me or just wrap them firmly in a towel , LOL Thanks for the smile xgins

One of my cats, Rimmer had to take three tablets a day,he was golden about it .I`d just grab him and shove the tablet in. Then one day I had to give the other cat a tablet, forgetting it was not Rimmer but Dickins, I grabbed him and shoved the tablet in. It didn`t take too long for the bleeding to stop :O :)

I had to go to hospital for treatment once my cat Henry who was a monster of a cat (huge) took a dislike to treatment, still got the scars, unfortunately Henry has passed into the cat world to rule there, he was 20years old when he went, he got a bit grumpy in his old age.

I can beat that one Sophie. I had to be treated by the vet. Rimmer was great at the vets so long as he could cling to me but when I tried to get him to loose to weigh him he paniced and scrabbled at thin air trying to get back to me and hooked a claw straight into my lip.The vets had to unhook him and as I was dripping blood all over the floor treat my lip with anticeptic. Every one in the waiting room found it very funny when I explained to my daughter, why I was covered in blood and holding a tissue to my mouth:

EEk! A couple of years ago, 82 year old dad-in-law dropped his hand down side of chair as he fell asleep and knocked our old cat on the head, cue hand mawled, infection and 3 days in hospital - he had travelled from Swansea to Sheffield to see us for Xmas! He was so gracious about it though - maybe the Xmas lunch was better there!

Hehehe lovely one Sophie. I have a cunning method which seems to work quite well for both cats and dogs which involves close holding and then a finger over the nose, they swallow pretty quickly then and open their mouths, no prob :-)

Lol, I do know the feeling. With four cats it's hardly a surprise.

My 22 year old cat is suffering chronic heart failure, just before Xmas his vet said he had days to live, he takes 5 tablets a day without complaint and is now going mousing again! I love him to bits, ( he's warming my lap right now) and I'm sure he's going to be fine for at least a while longer. His name is "Brother" but that's another story altogether. :-)

I tried our cat with a "pill popper", but the only way I could get her to open her mouth was to sit with her until she yawned and spring in there with it before she knew waht was happening. I used to play a game with her and tap the back of her tongue when she yawned, as it would befuddle her, so it came in handy in the long run.
