Hi there i'm new to the site. I have a lot of health conditions a lot of them autoimmune (thyroid, pernicious anemia, coeliac disease, pituitary and folate deficiency) as well as bladder problems asthma, gynaecological problems and a bad back if that wasn't enough my doc is now querying fibro and says I should get the pain clinic to find out if I have it. I'm already under the pain clinic anyway i've been on regular pain meds for 10 years now, can anyone advise me if this is the best way to get a diagnosis please. Hope everyone is doing ok 2day.

Hi,

welcome to the site, you will find us very friendly and it's a great place for info and support.

I got my Fibro diagnosis from the pain clinic. You'll need to ask to see the Consultant who will sort things for you. I was given my diagnosis then assessed for what help I needed and put on a Fibromyalgia management course which was brilliant.

Hugs

Welcome welcome to this marvelous site, please feel free to make it your home. Take a look at our mother site fibroaction.org it is full of useful and helpful explanations and references to other sites. I see from your post you have not seen a rheumatologist and I think this is your best step for confirmation of Fibo, your own D oc should refer you. Then the rheumy will elimanate what else it could be.

Do remember that although everyone on here has Fibro we are not Doctors and any info must be checked by your DOC.

Welcome again xxgins

Hi autoimmune-queen

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are having all of these problems and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues.

I think many people on the forum have been diagnosed either at a Rheumatology Clinic or a Pain Clinic, as these tend to be the first port of call? I was personally diagnosed after my GP arranged for me to see a Private Consultant and a Chiropractor, I had intense tests and treatments and was informed in only 3 weeks of my Fibro diagnosis. I am convinced if I had of been referred to a clinic within a hospital it would have taken a long time?

I sincerely hope that you find the site useful and informative and please try the link that 'gins' has pasted for you as the site is full of information.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x
