I've had a very tough few years, let's just say I am surprised I have not gone insane with what I have had to deal with, too long to go into but just when my life is starting to pick up I have been having some troublesome problems. I am currently going through the recruitment process for the part time fire service, I lift weights, run, do pilates and walk for at least 3 hours a day so I am fit and I know I have a very high tolerance to pain. I was told by my GP that I have hypermobility, I have always been bendy but when I went to see her last year with a funny walk and severe back pain I was properly diagnosed. Anyway over the last year or so in general I have felt not with it, and making mistakes at work that I cannot remember making, and basically at times being unable to speak, I cannot get out the words that I want to say. I am now also in crippling pain in my ankles, worse on the ouside joint particularly bad in the morning, and they even seize up if I have been lying on the bed for 30 minutes or so, I cannot at first put any weight on my feet, I grin and bear it and once I've moved them around for a while I am mobile again. I have alot of pain just underneath my shoulders in the chest area and this radiates towards my back, feels like a permanently pulled muscle and pain around my knees, tops of legs and hips. I've been undergoing tests for abdominal pain, and upset stomach, and the tests have all come back normal with a suggestion that it could be adhesions from surgery I have had in the past. I do not sleep well and get strange headaches which are not always in the same place every time. Does this sound like fibro and do these symptoms sound familiar to many of you?? I dare not go back to my GP for fear of being labelled a hypochondriac (sorry for spelling if it's wrong, I used to be excellent at spelling but now doubt myself) but I would like to at least figure out what is wrong with me. Whatever it is, I refuse to let it beat me and remain very active but at the same time do not want to do myself any lasting damage as I am only 43 and have lots of working years left in me.

Hi loulou770
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you have this horrid illness also, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your issues.
Although I am not a doctor, after reading your post I think that you have many Fibro symptoms that I could relate too.
I can see that zeb73 has pasted the FibroAction link for you, and I really hope that you find it useful? I really look forward to bumping into you around the forum.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Thank you all so much for your lovely welcome. It's nice to know there are others who can identify. I am just venturing out on the train to Norman's Bay in East sussex, just me and my little dog, yes my ankles hurt amongst other things but I am determined not to let this thing (if it is Fibro) run my life, I have been through too much. It's a lovely sunny day, my doggy is really excited, I shall sit on the beach with my book and get some much needed sunshine while I have a couple of days off work. Chat to you all later, and have a wonderful weekend, Louise x
