Hi Weesie1968

I take it from your question that things haven't been good for you today? I just wanted to let you know that you have friends on here who will help lift your spirits. It does make you think however, how rigid the guidelines for a disability benefit must be? It doesn't seem fair at all but please persevere and get the benefit that you are legally entitled to.

All my hopes and dreams for you

what gets me about the whole thing is when you fill the form in answering their questions it makes me feel really low and depressed and this exacerbates everything. i know they need to know what we can and can't do but but surely there has to be a better way!. we don't go through life thinking all the time i can't do this or can't do that either. we get on with what we can and get round some of what we can't without having to think too much about it. but these forms makes us think and then we wait months for decisions and often have to fight again. one thing i've learned in managing is to be as positive as possible but these forms and medicals just strip everything like that away and were left coping with no power left within to keep going with. they are soul destroying us each time and it gets harder and harder. those who are genuinely ill should not have to fight for their entitlement. its a cruel and unfair system all through.

rant over - sorry

hi weesie ,your having a hard time the forms are not fit for purpose do not have right questions to understand our problems they are meant to catch out those who are benifit cheats but the wrong people are being punished those in goverment have no idea what it's like to have to live our lives.

I think the system is a scam which sets you up to fail with exact distances and measurements. And yes specific forms to suit an illness is what we need but will never arrive soon. Although as a fibro sufferer i was surprised in Liverpool at esa assesment interview they told me they would NOT ask me to do any movements at all as it can set fibro off and very easy questions from atos which answered themselves. And i got back in support group easily. So maybe the changes are starting.
