Bloody scammers, the lift is working but they turned the power off. They are full of little tricks like that to catch people out. If it took you an hour to crawl to the top of the stairs, they would have declared you fit for work. Well done for not cooperating. :)

I agree with you .it s just a trick to see if you can walk a distance or unaided.

Most people are not aware of this but they are being assessed from the moment they arrive in the car park on CCTV. It's an hour long assessment, that is why they keep people waiting before interviewing them, which usually takes about 20 minutes. They rig doors to make them more difficult to pull open. In the waiting room they watch to see if you can sit down and get up from a chair. Sometimes they will offer you a drink to see if you can hold a cup.

They go by what you put on the ESA/50 then come up with a plan to trip you up, like they did with Bob.

exactly my experience kept waiting an hour an half one time and could feel the receptionist watching me.so kept getting up and movign about and changing sitting position .i stood to let him open the door for me and he signalled fro me to go first and open it.they offered me a pen attached to a clip board clip to see if i could pick it up.wise now to their ways

Don't accept a home visit unless they agree to record it, otherwise your medical form will be nothing but lies, if you insist on having a recorded appointment they have to arrange it, if they don't have the travel recorders they have to either get the lift fixed, or arrange a room on the ground floor to have the interview in, or send you to the next nearest office that can arrange a recorded meeting, always insist on all appointments with Atos being recorded no matter why you're there (DLA, PIP, ESA or other) because then they can't lie about you answers and each time you go to an appointment get them to stamp, sign and declare you did attend on your appointment letter, saying you didn't attend when they cancelled or made the appointment impossible is another trick they use to cause trouble for us, don't let them do it to you!
