Of course I must stress that talking to your GP about your pain is vital to your care and telling him/her of any changes you experience or would like to make is very important.
Thanks Zeb, I found it easier to stay with the US website rather than going to the UK one, when all the information disappears, well at least it does for me
Hi Jilly I find that also............. it bugs me when that box flashes up asking 'do you want to go to the UK site' just as I'm part way reading something grrrrrrrr LOL
is there something wrong with the link that I could fix?
Hi zeb how are you, have only just seen your post, have read it and found it very interesting, thank you, and like you I had to stay on the American site. Take care gentle hug and a large handful of sunshine coming to you,.....Dee xxxxx
Hi there Zeb, yes agree with everything said in article. Pain medication is essntial, but its up to us to put in the extra effort to find what improves/worsens our own situation. I d3finately found changes to diet, attitude and massage, bowen treatment ( when money allows) a big help.
I agree with you Shazzy, I started to implement changes about 6 years ago from rearranging my bedroom so it was easier to move around to talking to a counsellor throughout my transition as I had bad health anxiety due to not being able to get a diagnosis or treatment because of it, bearing in mind this was prior to diagnosis. I even started to try and grow my own veg like carrots and broccoli, herbs and salad type stuff even onions and garlic fresher the food the better I find, when money allows.
By the way spinach is fantastic to grow, I found it to be quite hardy in the sheltered and shady part of the yard.
Attitude does play a huge role too doesn't it? The Pain Management course that I did taught us about those kinds of changes, typical CBT techniques about turning negatives into positives to help keep things balanced. Also pacing, everyone hates pacing LOL
Thanks for the reply, so nice to find someone with similar attitude to this condition of unwellness. Good to know about the spinac as i have a balcony, will give it a go this spring as i have started juicing which actually tastes great and spinach is in a lot of the recipies.
I have problem with weak/painful wrists and was eating to many ready meals( also standing to cook, athritic knees since childhood), so i bought myself a juicer in Jan sales. I love it, mos of juices are fruit or fruit and veg.
My favourite is 2 apples, 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks, 1 beetroot and 1 orang, but apples and carrots together are fab flavour and can add whatever you want (spinach!). 1 kiwi, handful of strawberries, 1 orange and 1/2 mango is another fab one, but basically you can mix anything you have and just taste as you go along, have not found anything revoltin yet, so just go for it. I find when im in a flare or have migraines i cannot do the juicing, but figure all those extra vitamins are being put to good use to get me back on my feet. All the best.
