i had a MRI scan a few weeks ago and ive received a letter today for an appointment for a EMG electromyogram? has anyone had one of these?

Me too it is not painful or scary. Sometimes they use needles but most of the time it is just like having a tens machine on.

Your nerves respond to the electric stimulus. It feels weird because you are not in control of your own movements.basically you are being gently electrocuted lol xx

thanks guys i have a tens machine and sometimes i turn it up so high that its just before hurting so if its like this thats fine, just wondered why i have to have this after a MRI scan, did that show something?? xxx

my rheumatologist arranged it after i went to see her about a pain im getting in my left arm a horrible intense pain like nagging toothache ,its not my fibromyalgia pain , so i had a MRI scan and now i have to have this EMG dont know why? xx

They do use for neuro muscular disorders such as carpal tunnel
