Morning Little Jan how are you today mines can be caused by lots of things including oranges cheese and chocolate, Have you tried to identify from your diet, Give it a go take out orange juice etc and see. If something is trigering it three times a day is it bright lights- how you sit at the computer do you suffer with neck pain. So it could be anything good luck in identifying the cause ., xxgins

Hi there,Iam also really struggling with migraines myself amongst other things and it's nearly every day now. There are lots of meds you can try for them, some to prevent it and some for the pain. You need to go back to your g.p for help.I use 4head stick from the chemist on my forehead, temples and neck and find that it helps a lot x

You could also try feverfew herbal remedy from either health span or holland and Barrett's x

I like Holland and barretts..I live in the USA..not all of those

products are available over here...Lucky ducks to have that

where you live. I get soaked on shipping cost but it's so worth it. =)

Atenolol is a beta blocker usually used for blood pressure. I never get any

headaches like that anymore since starting up on that several years ago.

It was prescribed as an off label and didn't affect my blood pressure much.

It opens the blood vessels wide...when you get a migraine the vessels get very

small and tight..causing pain. I do live in the USA..so maybe it's the same there,

maybe not. Atenolol takes 2 weeks to feel the difference.

Hi yikes,I do like your new pic.You really don't look your age at all! And certainly not like a grandma :)

in reply toharibo36

I must say that you do not look your age either...ahhaa.. what

a cute kid..<3 . I have 3 of them myself- all grown up. =)

Thank you..I was blessed with good genes.. My mother made me wear sunscreen

my entire life..Just watch now that I have fibro...I am going to age before your eyes.

=)) I love being a grandma..but grandma's need to sleep and I cannot..it's 3:20am

over here and I am wide awake like an owl..for no good reason..except have a fight

going on with the husband..we just aren't agreeing on things lately...I feel bad but

not..I've been married to him for 27 yrs now.

Aww,Iam so sorry to hear that Hun :( is it over major things are something that you can agree to disagree on if you know what I mean?Do you always have trouble sleeping?By the way,I had someone look at that mould on my ceiling Yesturday and he said it was just condensation and that it can be cleaned off.I have the windows slightly open all the time so we will see.He said it's not damp or else the ceiling would be soggy and cave in when touched xxx

Hi littlejan, I so sympathise with you I have suffered for years with dreadful migraines and completely understand how debilitating they can be, poor you ! My doctor does seem to think that people with fibro do tend to suffer more with migraines, than those without fibro. As gins has said they can be so many triggers, stress also plays a big part, but in migraine sufferers all the "olfactory" senses (light, noise and smell for example) are greatly heightened. I know for me certain thinks like scents, and flashing light of any sort can immediately put me into migraine mode. I have had many treatments over the years, like Yikes said, some beta blockers can be helpful in minimising the occurrence of them, but it doesn't work for everyone, it may be worth mentioning that to your doctor at some point and ask him whether it might be good for you.

At the moment I am taking Maxalt (rizatriptin) which is a "wafer" which you put either under your tongue or in the side of your cheek and let it dissolve. The blood vessels in your mouth are the quickest way of getting any medication into your blood stream, so I find that within about half an hour the pain is definitely much less, and then a while later gone. I still feel completely wiped out, physically though, as you do with migraine, but at least that horrendous pain is gone. Again that may be worth a mention to your doctor, but what suits one person and works doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

I really hope that you manage to get some proper help and do let us know how you get on :-)

Foggy x

I get migraines and headaches. Had about 6 days on the run - usually only 2 or 3 days. Several triggers for mine - hormones, fatigue and doing too much. They're horrid things - my sympathies.
